Drums, Guitars, microphones and other musical stuff were out, in the hall this morning for Pt England schools immersion Assembly. This Morning my whole school and I had our beginning of term four immersion assembly. Our principal and other ‘ Co-principals’ performed for the whole school in the morning. Straight after them, team one performed.
Team one’s performance was about how playing different types of music can change your emotions to others when, lets say for example, Playing a game and how music can make you feel happy or sad or angry when listening to music in the background.
I enjoyed team 5 the most, Mrs Tele’a, Mrs Illoa, Mr Wiseman and Whaea Kelly, and Miss Tapuke.
They showed us a clip from a movie we are all familiar with ‘The Lion King’, they played the original clip, then played it several more times, but added different music to the clip, this changed the way you viewed the clip and how you felt, and what it meant, it was very interesting and funny to watch.
Mr Burt and the management team made up a song called Musical Madness and this is the theme for our topic this term.
This term the topic we are studying is call Musical Madness.
Each team had to learn a skit to perform in front of the school on the first day back for term 4 they were:
- Playing a game of cards to different music to show how music changes the way you feel.
- Singing making music using musical instruments, small hand held drums, ukelele, shakers, recorder flute.using music to express oneself
- Music in the car, makes the ride more fun, car kareoke.
- Watching lion king, movie night with the family, changed music to a clip.
Music plays an important part in our lives, it can make us feel good, feel sad, music is in all cultures.
