                                      School Athletics on Friday

Last week we had Athletics. The whole school had came Together and met on the Hard court, when the rest of Team 5 had sat down, it was handed Ms Vaafusuaga, After Ms Finished talking Mr Burt let us go to our first Rotation. For the year 7 Girls The First Rotation we went to was Long throw,or long ball, For long ball you have to throw the baseball a Distance.

You would throw the ball and then it's the next person's turn. Long ball was fun even though some of us tried our best - some just mostly failed. After we finished Long ball,Next the year 7 girls went to Dodge ball. For Dodge ball was kinda fun because we would have to vs like the Green Team,Yellow Team, Blue Team and the Red Team. Tia was the girl that was running the Dodge ball, we had to wait a while till the next Team had lost. Then it would be the next Teams turn and they would have to vs the Team that came first.

Then when the trumpet blew it was time for us to move to our next rotation. Finally when we had finished doing Dodge ball The next rotation was volley ball, when we went on cause the red team that was my Team was versing the Green Team. The red Team almost won because if the ball just came right over then we would of hitten over and we would of won the first round of volleyball. The score for we got was 5 and 4. The next team up was yellow and blue, blue played good cause they bait the yellow Team. Even though we Tried our personal best.

This Morning at 9:25,All of Team 5 had to meet in the street because there was a guest coming to talk to us about something,Then When Mr Patterson came to talk to us about what are we launching in our future, we knew what he was going to talk to us about. First we talked about What is our Aim for success, There were three letters A + I = M, it had taken quite time for all of us to figure it out, then some kids put up their hands The A stands for Aspiration. Aspiration means when your parents or your alarm wake's you up in the morning, Your just thinking about how is your day going to turn out, either is it going to be a great day for you or another boring day for you as always.

The Last one was M, M also stands for Motivation, It means when some one motivate's you,It was onto the next slide it said Aim for success! Aiming for success means Aiming for your future and upcoming things like going to college. because he came here to talk to the year 8's and the year 7's to. but he came to talk to the year 8's about college because it's their last year here in Team 5.
Be a Giver not a Taker. because if you be a giver then you are doing the right thing to the person your giving to. if you take from some one that means your not doing the right thing and your just Taking something that isn't the right thing to do. Because Mr Patterson was saying to us that he just came back from Australia and he got here and he said that his flight just got cancelled, and he said he had been waiting in line. There were about 100 people waiting in line, he said he saw a young couple and their 3 children that was under

Athletics day

This year on Friday the 10th of November we had our athletics day at our school field.

                                         Athletics day

Everyone from years 1 - 8 got into their year level line. The house colours were green, yellow, red and blue. We all were sitting on the count waiting for us to be called to go to our station.

First we have softball throw once we finish playing softball throw we went to play a game where you Jump over some steroids then  Zig Zag through the poles. Only one person at a time while playing this game. The winners of this game was the green  which I’m in. Next was we went of Dodge ball which was a fun game to play. If you don’t know how to play dodge ball it's where you go down and when they say go you get up and run and try get a ball on the line so that you can hit someone with it .

My Favourite thing at athletics was high jump for those that don’t know what high jump is well high jump is where there is a big mat like a bed for you too fall on once you jump over this long pole once you have made it over you will walk over to the middle. After when you have made the high jump you move on to the next level but if the pole gets higher and higher it mean it starts to get harder and harder.

My second favourite Station was doing sprints. If you haven't did sprints before well doing sprints is just like running but you're running as fast as you can in your own lines. After you have raced and you came 1st 2nd 3nd then you go to the next race with all the other fast girls . The top 3 will go to interzones.

This years Athletics was really a fun time to enjoy and have a go. I had a fantastic time at our school athletics. I am looking forward for next years athletics as it is going to be my last athletics at Pt england school.

Today I had help from Tyla. I wrote me story in tongan and she helped me translate it into english.IMG_20171115_102422_2.jpg

On Wednesday after assembly we lined up outside on the street and waited for the bus. When the bus came it took us to Sylvia Park to watch Manaiakalani Film Festival. When we got off the bus, we lined up outside and waited for our teachers and then we walked o the movies and waited outside the theatre. We went inside and got a seat and we waited for the movies to play.

My favourite movie was the one with Unty Tala and rapunzel. We also watched the year 6 and year 5 movie. There were heaps of other movies from different schools. We watched a Tamaki Primary School movie. When the movies finished we came back to school.

After watching the film festival I enjoyed all the movies. I was happy to go back to school. We came back to school on the bus. When we go back we ate our lunch and then when we

Welcome to Term four its 'Musical Madness"

Drums, Guitars, microphones and other musical stuff were out, in the hall this morning for Pt England schools immersion Assembly. This Morning my whole school and I had our beginning of term four immersion assembly. Our principal and other ‘ Co-principals’ performed for the whole school in the morning. Straight after them, team one performed.

Team one’s performance was about how playing different types of music can change your emotions to others when, lets say for example, Playing a game and how music can make you feel happy or sad or angry when listening to music in the background.

I enjoyed team 5 the most, Mrs Tele’a, Mrs Illoa, Mr Wiseman and Whaea Kelly, and Miss Tapuke.
They showed us a clip from a movie we are all familiar with ‘The Lion King’, they played the original clip, then played it several more times, but added different music to the clip, this changed the way you viewed the clip and how you felt, and what it meant, it was very interesting and funny to watch.
Mr Burt and the management team made up a song called Musical Madness and this is the theme for our topic this term.

This term the topic we are studying is call Musical Madness.
Each team had to learn a skit to perform in front of the school on the first day back for term 4 they were:

  1. Playing a game of cards to different music to show how music changes the way you feel.
  2. Singing making music using musical instruments, small hand held drums, ukelele, shakers, recorder flute.using music to express oneself
  3. Music in the car, makes the ride more fun, car kareoke.
  4. Watching lion king, movie night with the family, changed music to a clip.
Music plays an important part in our lives, it can make us feel good, feel sad, music is in all cultures.

Foloundre

Today Pt England school had a special trip  down  to Pt England beach.  Before we left we had a whole school assembly where.

Mr Burt told us we were going down to the Tamaki Estuary to watch Mr Voight and some of our students cast a large flounder net out into the river.

We all walked down and when we got there we sang waiata and said Karakia.  We watched as they dragged the nets through the water to try and net some flounder.

My Favourite Speech.

On Friday we listened to our class speech finalists There were 15 finalists  from the senior block. I enjoyed Amelia's speech the most because she spoke about her family.

She spoke about living with her siblings , and her granma living with them.

She helps her granma around the house, and she enjoys having her granma live with them.
She spoke clearly and it was easy for me to understand what Amelia's speech was about.M
